Playwriting
Competition Madison County Schools
First Stage is particularly proud of this program. We offer
students in the region a chance to explore their skills as
writers.
Each school year, First Stage sponsors a playwriting
competition for children of Middle and High School age in
Madison County, along with all children that participate in
our yearly programs.
Our competition launched in October, with a January 15th
deadline. The winning play(s) will be performed by our
children participating in our after school program at the
end of the school year.
A winner from each school will be selected and awarded a
cash prize, along with our invitation to participate in the
full production process.
Each
school must have a minimum of 5 submissions to be
eligible.
Middle and High School students, home schoolers throughout
Madison County, and all participants in First Stage's
programs are encouraged to submit their original works for
consideration.
Notification of this competition is available in the Middle
and High Schools of Madison County and all libraries in
Mars Hill, Marshall and Hot Springs in early January.
